Barbara Ogrič Markež we recently completed the Manual for Visual Communication for
the city of Idrija. The 200 page document analyses the many ways in which
information is or could be displayed in the public space. We focused on the
signage on facades across the city space. We dug deep into the archives to find
photos of the past and appropriated good practices to suit the modern needs.
We developed many tailor-made solutions that speak to the heritage
of this incredible mining city. The main part of the manual are photographs
of the degraded city spaces – reimagined through simple, doable and cost
Highlights from the manual are currently on display in the
passage of Magazin, Idrija.
I gave a talk about my design process at Indigo festival. The fifth edition of the Indigo Festival took place under the title
“Now is Too Late” and under the circumstances set by our new reality.
